That's great, I go on my first of 2 placements soon but only for 5 weeks. My course is a mix of several disciplines, epidemiology, public health, health protection, promotion, psychology, sociology, environmental and disease prevention and protection. Basically what Public Health England, W.H.O. do. It's good, just trying to figure out what MSc to do once I finish.
My placement in year one was 6 weeks long, it feels longer than it is though! Seems like some very interesting stuff, I'm quite content working in diagnostics - I don't see the need to do a Masters at the moment, when I graduate I'll have had a years worth of lab experience, and coupled with HCPC registration that'll put me in a good place for jobs :)
My hope is to find somewhere to do my specialist portfolio which would take me to a Band 6 ^_^ Potentially could even do the STP programme if the right location/specialism came up for me to become a clinical scientist :D We'll see what time holds haha
